In the organisation we have three primary schools, two kindergartens, and one high school. Students' age is from 3 to 18. Vila Franca de Xira is a city of the district of Lisbon in the right edge of the river Tejo.
The community of Vila Franca de Xira is constituted by eleven parishes.
The main economy suits the farming, food industry, retailing commerce, restoration, transports, cement, chemical, metalworking and building industry . Local administration plays here also an important role. More recently some logistic centres were created . They brought more employment and gave more  energy to the local economy.
Local gastronomy is also very much appreciated and it offers a lot of  typical   dishes  the cod soup, açorda(mashed bread) with shad  and a variety of receipts with eels(enguias), rabbit(coelho), cabrito assado (roast kid) and galinha de cabidela (hen with rice with blood)
Our school (school no. 4)  belongs to the Grouping of Schools Sousa Martins. The infant school and one unity of support to the deaf pupils belongs to this Grouping too. The school is  in a residential district, being the school population, in his majority, of other areas of the city. There are also some  pupils coming of other customs of the district. This is partly due to the school  for deaf pupils. The pupils are middle class .
Pupils with special needs are integrated in classes with no more than 20 students and they are supported by specialized external teachers sometimes outside of classes but also in addiction to classes.
In our schools, we have external activities provided by the school, like classes of English, Music, Physical Education.
