Secondary Technical School of Transport in Martin, Slovakia


Our school is situated in central Slovakia. The school has a rich tradition. It was founded in the second half of 19th century. The history of apprentice school is made of many events in important periods which bought many changes. The apprentice school was put together with Secondary Technical school of Transport on 1st July 2002 and was renamed to Secondary Technical school of Transport and this name is valid until today. 

The school has changed its structure of educational branches. Old branches have been changed by new up-to day ones. The school is aimed at road transport, railway transport, heavy-current and light-current electrical engineering and informatics.

The school tends to cooperate with employers and influence educational quality and content of its graduates so that their level of performance is in agreements of valid standards.

Secondary Technical school of Transport is a large complex, which has advanced school staff and suitable technical equipment available. We all try to create optimal educational conditions for all students. The education is aimed to pass the exams and find appropriate jobs. Our school participates in the training that is organised by producers of cars and services department in Senec, Slovakia. Our school cooperates with KIA, Vokswagen, service department of Fiat, Škoda, Opel, Peugeout. We collaborate with Technical University in Žilina in Implementing Learning Management systems in Electrotechnics and Electronics.

We are involved in e Twinning project with Zespol skol samochodowo-budovlanych Czenstochova, Poland.

The students are from different family backgrounds, many of them are from rural areas. In the project we would like to encourage all the students through the activities to strengthen the cooperation skills and European awareness.
